Dr. Bo (Eddie) Pan

Dr. Bo (Eddie) Pan, a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Animal Biosciences, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, January 31st. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.

Dr. Bo Pan (Eddie) is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Guelph.  In 2011, he earned his master's degree from the Qingdao Agricultural University in China.  His master research included the Molecular and Cellular Approach to the Study of Development Biology of Mammalian Germ Cells. In 2014, he started his Ph.D. program with the Ontario Trillium Scholarship award which is the initiative to attract the best qualified international students. The focus of his Ph.D. project was to focus on the Identification and Characterization of Small Noncoding RNAs in the porcine ovary. After obtaining his Ph.D. in animal reproduction (University of Guelph), he continually held postdoctoral fellowships under the supervision of Dr.Julang Li. His postdoctoral fellowship is part of a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) grant in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and is focusing on leveraging the intracellular mechanism to better understand the ovary functions. In his scientific career,  Dr. Pan has published over twenty peer-reviewed scientific articles and reviews. This upcoming February, he is taking a new position at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States.

The Centre for Genetic Improvement of Livestock welcomes all interested University of Guelph staff, faculty, students, as well as industry and academic collaborators to attend our CGIL Seminars, which are held on Friday afternoons throughout the Fall and Winter semesters. The meetings are always available remotely via Fuze, for those unable to attend in person, and presentation recordings may also be available after the seminar. Please let us know if you need further instructions on how to connect to Fuze or view available webinar recordings.

Have a great week!
