This week we are pleased to welcome four students from the University of Guelph presenting for us on Friday, March 13th, 2026, as part of the course ANSC*6210: Principles of Selection in Animal Breeding. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST in ANNU 030 and on the virtual platform of Microsoft Teams. The titles of their presentations are:

Speaker Bios:
John Ndungu is a MSc student in Animal BioSciences with a Specialization in Animal breeding and Genetics at the Centre for Genetic Improvement of Livestock under the supervision of Prof. Flavio Schenkel. I have over 15 years’ experience in Livestock extension, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Livestock Registration and Performance Recording, Design and Implementation of Breeding Programs. Also served as an Associate Faculty at the Department of Animal Health and Production, Mount Kenya University.
Flora Zhou is currently a course-based master’s student in Animal Biosciences, specializing in animal nutrition. She earned her BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo, where she discovered her interest in biochemistry, in particular, metabolic pathways involved in nutrient digestion.
Yifan (Zoey) Zhao is currently a course-based master's student in Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph. My academic interests focus on animal genetics, welfare, and nutrition.
Wai Ling Nikita Wong is a master's student in Animal Bioscience, supervised by Dr. Gregoy Bedecarrats. She is currently completing coursework by Major research paper.
