Biography

I am a current postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Guelph working under the advisement of Dr. Christine Baes. I received a dual degree in Animal Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Connecticut in May 2020 and following graduation, I started my Master's focusing on Quantitative Genetics and Animal Breeding under Dr. Breno Fragomeni. My Master’s research focused on genotype by environment interaction and heat stress in swine. My PhD research focused on novel approaches to the selection for fertility in dairy cattle, specifically I investigated two novel fertility indicators and evaluated the heat stress effects on a currently implemented fertility indicator.

My current research focuses on the interaction between mitigation traits and adaptation traits in dairy cattle. I will investigate the correlations between currently implemented environmental mitigation indicators and heat stress adaptation traits.
