Brodie Ross is a Master of Science student in the Department of Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph. With a special focus on equine physiology and anatomy, he is working towards defining the relationship between gastrointestinal permeability and exercise-induced stress in horses through in vivo and in vitro experimentation.
Brodie completed his Bachelor of Science in Honours Animal Biology at the University of Guelph, where he learned about agricultural and companion animal physiology, nutrition, management and welfare. Through his first-hand experience in the equine industry in academic, medical, and recreational settings, Brodie has a broad range of knowlege when it comes to equine welfare.
Outside of academics, Brodie can be found outdoors riding horses, hiking with his cat, Hendricks, and rock climbing. Brodie’s goals in research are to provide the equine industry with information and strategies to educate and promote positive gastrointestinal health to improve career longevity, performance and welfare.
